White Winged Chough

The white-winged chough (Corcorax melanorhamphos) is one of only two surviving members of the Australian mud-nest builders family, Corcoracidae, and is the only member of the genus Corcorax. It is native to Southern and Eastern Australia and is an example of convergent evolution as it is only distantly related to the European choughs that it closely resembles in shape, and for which it was named.

Emu Run

The emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae) is the second-largest living bird in the world by height, after its ratite relative, the ostrich. It is endemic to Australia where it is the largest native bird and the only extant member of the genus Dromaius. The emu’s range covers most of mainland Australia, but the Tasmanian emu and King Island emu subspecies became extinct after the European settlement of Australia in 1788. The bird is sufficiently common for it to be rated as a least-concern species by the International […]

Hi im a Duck

Hi I’m a duck , Im going to take a guess at this one, This is a Domestic Duck. People originally had them as pets and they either get sick of them or can’t afford to feed them and then dump them in the lakes and dams. I suppose thats better than eating them. The pet ducks then interbreed with other native ducks and […]
